To Download: (This procedure will vary depending on your browser,
download manager, and version of Windows. Please adjust
accordingly!)
- Next to the
photo you want, click on your screen resolution.
- A Download
Dialog Box will appear.
- If necessary,
click "Save this file to Disk" and click "OK".
- Navigate to
the folder where you want to save the file. The "Desktop" is good
because you will soon be deleting it.

which you can use to easily install the wallpaper will be
saved.
To Install (Recommended Procedure):
- Double-click
on the executable (.exe) file you downloaded above.
- This will
extract the wallpaper file and put a "Try New Wallpaper!" icon on your
Desktop.
- Double-click
the "Try New Wallpaper!" icon. Your Display
Properties panel should open. Click the "Desktop" tab, if necessary.
- Scroll
through the Wallpapers list and click the appropriate file name (e.g.
Lighthouse800 or LthsGB640, etc.).
- Click "OK" to
use it as your wallpaper.
Alternate Installation

- Open your
Control Panel.
- Double-click
either the "Display" or "Desktop" icon depending on your version of
Windows. You want the one that opens the Display Properties

This is the
background I used for years. I combined it with the medium purple Desktop
color (Properties > Appearance tab > Item drop-down > choose
Desktop > Color drop-down > choose the purple). Very easy on the
eyes. |
Same photo as
above, but this one has a gray border around it where you can place all
your icons. However, the photo itself is smaller at every resolution.
Works best with small icons at higher resolutions. The gray of the border
matches the darkest gray in the basic Desktop colors (see
above).
